1776 Announce Debut LP, Spring Tour With The Dandy Warhols

Self Titled Album Out June 5th on Beat The World Records / The End Records

1776 are a rock band from the small logging town of Longview, Washington. They are Nigel Ledgerwood, Christopher Cook, Mitchell Rupe, and Zach Whiton. For the last two years they’ve have been part of The Dandy Warhols’ ‘Beat The World Records’ family and are releasing their debut album through Beat The World Records and The End Records on June 5th 2012.

Bands like The Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds, Sweet, The Seeds and The Kinks; as well as the legendary underground Portland bands of Dead Moon, The Wipers, and Napalm Beach inspire them. You can hear touches of their influences in their music, from the primal drumming to the wall of guitar riffs, and the unique melodies created by Ledgerwood.

They play Rock n’ Roll with distinctive vocal harmonies and guitar tones that are reflected in songs such as ‘I Won’t Be Your Prey’ with its trashy garage rock vibe; and Mick Ronson-ish riffs in ‘When You Go’. ‘Your Summit Will Expire’ is a doom waltz with heavy influence from Syd Barrett and early Pink Floyd.

They will be joining The Dandy Warhols on their upcoming tour of the US.
