Following a one-year hiatus Boulder’s Rose Hill Drive returns as a quartet, breaking with their power trio roots for the release of Americana on their newly formed Slow and Shirley Records on July 12. The band is currently on tour with Stone Temple Pilots, please see list of dates on reverse.
In 2003, brothers Daniel and Jacob Sproul began practicing along with childhood friend Nate Barnes in the basement of their house on Rose Hill Drive in their hometown of Boulder, CO. Since then, the band has released two critically acclaimed albums—2006’s self-titled debut and 2008’s Moon is the New Earth—and several EPs. Their music and live show has earned the group high praises from both critics and fellow musicians alike. Rolling Stone named Rose Hill Drive one of their “10 New Artists To Watch” in 2007 and Guitarist Magazine said “If this doesn’t make you want to pick up a Les Paul, you have no soul.”
Rose Hill Drive has performed along side a host of rock legends including The Who, The Black Crowes, Robert Randolph, Queens of the Stone Age, Van Halen, Gov’t Mule, Jane’s Addiction and Aerosmith and has played Bonnaroo, Red Rocks, Austin City Limits and The Warped Tour.
The group took a one year hiatus following the release of their 2008 LP, years od extensive touring and an appearance on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.” During their time away lead singer and bassist Jacob took up the guitar and the band added new bassist Jimmy Stofer, previously a member of Colorado favorites Hello Kavita and Dualistics as well as a touring member of The Fray. After a spring run of dates with Stone Temple Pilots, the band will continue their U.S. tour with them including select solo dates.
