You know guys, I'm beginning to think I made a bad decision in cutting the show back to 2 hours. Oh yeah, I'm healthier, I get more rest, and I love the two hour version, but it's darn near impossible for me to get everything I want to do done in two hours. I just have to keep telling myself, there is a show next week. I forget that sometimes, but really, that is what drives me to produce a good show every week. I produce it like it's going to be my last.Tonight is going to be one of those shows and I'll be lucky to get it all done, but I'm going to give it hell.
Tonight I'm going to start things off acoustically with former local musician Red Manry and "Shoot". I'm going to follow up with Jonah Smith performing his new tune, "Mind Hell" recorded live at Spirit Wind Java in Ingram in early June. Both of those are coming our way courtesy of Tony Gallucci and Kathleen Hudson. Thanks guys for your generosity.
The rest of the show is going to be a potpourri of music genres ranging from Johnny Cash's version of Trent Reznor's "Hurt", The Black Keys doing Buddy Holly's "Dearest", Nick Cave and Neko Case and "She's Not There" originally recorded by The Zombies, Plowboy and their original tune "Illusions", BRMC and "As Sure as the Sun", Meat Puppets and "Maiden's Milk", Nazz, Small Faces, Mary Gauthier, Erick Hisaw, The Band, and whole lot more.
We get things rolling at 10 PM and go until midnight, so make sure to listen, if you live here in the Texas Hill Country tune into KERV 1230 AM in Kerrville and KOOK 93.5 in Junction, or of course on the WWW by simply clicking HERE!
I'll see you in about an hour on 'Rebel' Rod's From Under the Basement!
