By 'Rebel' Rod Ames
I’m not sure if this is a good thing or not, but I woke up today feeling quite adventurous, feeling as if I woke up on the edge of things. For me, that is usually a good thing artistically speaking. My eyes literally popped wide open! Out of the bed I jumped and almost literally ran into the kitchen to prepare a cup of “Joe”. I placed myself in front of the computer and started preparing my show for tonight.
What I wound up with is probably one of the most “all over the place” shows I have ever done in almost a year of doing ’Rebel’ Rod’s From Under the Basement. Tonight, if you tune in, you will be hearing everything from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, who my good friends Plowboy re-introduced to me too, all the way to ZZ Top.
In between, you will hear Beck, Imperial Rooster, The Blasters, Son Volt, Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen, Wilco, Imperial Rooster, The Black Keys, Violent Femmes, Sonic Youth, Foo Fighters, Plowboy, Blood on the Saddle, Gurf Morlix, Black Joe Lewis, Ha Ha Tonka, Left Lane Cruiser, and a whole lot more.
There is so much great music, I’m just not sure I’ll get to it all, but I’ll come close.
I guess after reading what I just wrote I’d have to say, waking up the way I did this morning was definitely a good thing.
Listen tonight from 10 PM until midnight, and see if you don’t completely agree. It’s live on KOOK 93.5 in Junction, Texas and KERV 1230 AM in Kerrville. If you’re not in the area, do not despair! It streams on the web by clicking HERE or on the KOOK 93.5 button at the top of this blog site.
You guys don’t ever want to miss any of my shows, but tonight, if you miss it, you just might want to check yourself into a detox somewhere because you will definitely go into withdrawal from not hearing this show!
See you tonight, on the radio!
