Actually, if we get real honest and take a good look at Monday, we will find that The Mamas and The Papas were wrong about their classic hit from the 60's.
Monday is the day the gates are opened. It is the 'real' first day of the week as far as I'm concerned. Hell, it's not the day the gates are opened to let all the new and exciting music in, it is the gate! It's the first day I start looking at all my new mail to see what has come my way. New music, updates on concerts, etc.
I've got one on my desk that I just got Saturday night called Louisiana Swamp Stomp that you can look forward to reading about here in the very near future.
I have Raul Malo's review of his latest Sinners and Saints that is absolutely incredible. I neglected to write a review on that one, so you can look forward to seeing a review of that this week as well.
And last but not least - I have a review of the latest live release from Los Lonely Boys. All I'll say right now, in case you haven't heard it yet, is that it's a beaut!
Whatever else today brings me will be a surprise, but if if nothing at all comes through those gates, then perhaps I'll get my shovel and do some digging "From Under the Basement" and see what I can reveal from our obscure and forgotten past.
As some friends are constantly expressing to me, "Rebel Rod, relax, there is more to be revealed!"
99.9% of the time they are absolutely correct.
Keep listening to the music. Peace
